I looked into this for this week's @PraxisCast It won't do any of this. It's 10,000 new govt-backed mortgages that, at best, will inflate housing costs. The rest is insane financial deregulation that the architects of the post-2008 rules have already come out against.
A maximum of 36,000 mortgages available under this scheme. There's 5 million people renting in the UK. This *may* help less than 1% of them. The rest of these announcements, the important ones, are further financial market deregulations.
