Three years ago, @CreateIntrigue was a guest at Morpeth Women's Networking when she encouraged to post her visual doodle of the talk online. Today, Ann was delighted to back in the same room - this time to share her new doodles-filled Ideasbook!

Every day I write one paragraph that's INCREDIBLY valuable. Then, I send it to my 26,993 newsletter subscribers. Check it out here: fortheinterested.com/subscribe/?utm…

Now that you feel better about saying not to stuff, here are some boundaries you might want to establish for yourself - they've worked great for me.

Smart creative entrepreneurs set boundaries. Here are some that helped me grow my audience and monetize my work WITHOUT burning out. 1. I take on no more than two Clarity Call clients each month. 2. My daily newsletter is no more than one paragraph per issue.

11. You don't have to have started years ago. It's never too late. YOUR TURN: What's something you don't do that hasn't held you back?

Ann English أعاد

9. You don't have to have any credentials. You don't need a degree, certificate, or permission from anyone - your creations speak for you, not your resume. 10. You don't have to stick with it. Successful creative entrepreneurs quit all the time - it's OK to move on.

Ann English أعاد

7. You don't have to have an email list. It's the most reliable way to reach your audience, but it's not the only way. 8. You don't have to use a lead magnet. You don't need bait to get people to sign up if you actually send valuable emails.

Ann English أعاد

5. You don't have to make it about you. Success is determined by the value you create for others, not the details you reveal about yourself. 6. You don't have to quit your job. You can make it without being a full-time creative entrepreneur - and it's often easier to do so.

3. You don't have to be on every platform. The more platforms you use, the less you'll get from them. 4. You don't have to make videos. Or blog posts. Or a podcast. Create whatever you want in whatever format you want.

Ann English أعاد

You don't have to do EVERYTHING to succeed. For example: 1. You don't have to monetize. Don't let others define success for you. 2. You don't have to pick one niche. Are you more likely to succeed if you do? Yes. Is it the only way to succeed? No.

Flashback to our advocacy event supported by @Ryder1953 & @MuckleLLP last Nov. It was an opportunity to mark 10yrs of our charitable work with young people, alongside an invitation to folks to explore working together with courage & care, to increase the social value of our work.

There's a LOT of bad advice out there for creative entrepreneurs. Please don't do these things: 1. Don't use every social platform. It's counterintuitive, but the more you use, the slower your audience will grow. 2. Don't write for search engines - write for people.

9. "Should" - It's a powerful word that makes a lot of people feel guilty. "You can" is better than "You should." 10. "My" - This one depends a bit on context, but if your messaging says "My" more than "Your" it probably needs an edit. Your work isn't about you.

Ann English أعاد

7. "Inspire/Inspiration" - These are often code for "not actionable." People want strategies, plans, etc. - not just motivation. 8. "Content" - Don't say "I share content about X," say "I share content that helps you do Y." Results, not topics.

Ann English أعاد

5. "Passive income" - There's no such thing. It takes a lot of ACTIVE effort to earn "passive" income. (Side note: You don't actually want an audience interested in passive income - it won't end well.) 6. "Creators" - It's lost its meaning these days. Be more specific.

Ann English أعاد

3. "Better/Best" - There's no such thing because that's subjective. Better for who? Better for what? 4. "The next level" - Another vague goal. The better you define the result you offer, the more likely people are to want it.
