On the left, as in wider society, we have a tendency on investing our hopes in symbols over organisations. A party will only do what the people inside it do, there's nothing inherent to it's name, or constitution if noone abides by it. The purpose of a system is what it does.

So much of Neo-Liberal economics is based on myths. The myth of barter, the myth that a national economy runs like a household and much more. Its almost worth studying economics just to be aware of how we are all deceived by such myths.

There is both a class and gender basis for saying that no meaningfully progressive movement by and for the working class can possibly have a place for this guy.
This is interesting because Adnan, by being transphobic, is using identity politics to divide the working class. Adnan is a landlord, he is a different class from us and has different interests. This is a class enemy dividing our class with bigotry and lecturing us about it.
Class politics & solidarity unites across race, religion, gender & other differences that set us apart & have the potential to build a mass movement. Identity politics do nothing but tear apart and cause division. Unite around similarities stop pulling apart over differences.
