I’ve been accused of being lefty, green and a communist. For the record I’m not historically any of those. My voting record over the years would be more right of centre. But I tend to base my voting on policies rather than blind allegiance to a single party.
Enjoyed a great day out in London with my wife. Nice lunch, great show at theatre and a relaxing time wandering round. Great to relax after a busy week.

If politicians want to save money how about they give up their second taxpayer funded homes and stay in a Premier Inn style hotel when staying in London for Parliament? How about we cut subsidised bars and restaurants in Parliament? We could save a fortune in expenses.
Can we be proactive and deal with the outrages for 2026 proactively… It is highly likely no one will ban Easter, bacon rolls, dog walking, Poppies, St George’s Day, conkers, Christmas or being English.🤷🏻 How does that sound?😁👍😂😂
How about if we said anyone wanting to be an MP, councillor, mayor etc in the UK needs to live permanently in the UK? How about saying they need to live in their constituency? How about saying they need to have no criminal record? Would that be so wrong?🤷🏽
I’m hoping people realise that posts making out the country and our cities are decaying are in most part propaganda aimed at getting people to vote in a particular way. Think how much better things would be if we talked positively about our cities and promoted the good stuff.

The purpose of aid and debt relief is greater than most people realise. Helping countries grow and develop will help not only improve people’s lives but also help that nation transition to contributing to the global economy. Aid and debt relief is an investment.
As we remember VE Day, and look to see the anniversary of VJ and the end of WW2 in a few months maybe it’s time to reflect. WW2 was fought to end tyranny, and the hatred, bigotry and racism it entailed. Shouldn’t we be doing more to embrace and remember that legacy?
We need social media companies to do more to prevent false and misleading information being spread. So many false stories and conspiracies are spread that can cause harm or upset and affect how people act in life. We need social media companies to be accountable.

Surely regardless of political alliances we all want our politicians to be honest and law abiding? Surely no one wants a politician who is convicted of a crime, especially serious sexual or financial crimes? Surely this true for all countries? 🤷🏻
I think here in the UK we need essential utilities like water nationalised again. We can’t carry on with seeing sewage discharges into our waterways whilst water companies pay out big dividends.🤦🏽 Run it like a business but reinvest profits.
Labour can only blame Conservatives for so long. Republicans can only blame democrats for so long. Eventually the political party in power needs to stop blaming previous administrations and stand on their own policies and actions. 🤷🏽
It is sad to see so many politicians or “wanna be” politicians promoting hate and fear. Yes, we need laws. Yes, some things may need fixing. But hatred and fear is not the answer. Wrong is still wrong. We need the leaders of the free world to stand against hate and injustice.
