Elite hitters don’t work on MORE things.
They work on the RIGHT things.

Their training has a singular focus and a clear purpose.

Every adjustment is filtered through one question:
Does this help me win more at-bats and score more runs?

Average…

Working on two things: change of direction & learning about taking the correct angles. @PicknPivot @InfieldVitamins @Libkepro

As an infielder, you want to have a short arm action. If you have an infielder with a long arm action. Give this self toss drill a try. @InfieldVitamins @Libkepro @PicknPivot

Athletes, please STOP training like bodybuilders That is, stop structuring your training around: - “back day.” - “legs.” - “Monday I’ll hit chest.” Build your training around motor unit recruitment. Design it around outputs & adaptions like speed, power & strength.

First Major League strikeout for Cam Sanders 👏

Learning how to catch an in-between hop and going into a shuffle to throw! Majority young infielders get stuck in the in-between b/c they do not know how to differentiate a Short Hop or In-Between hop. @Libkepro @InfieldVitamins @NateTrosky

Number 1 thing I see in infielders. Not staying low enough. Jump ropes & ladder drills are fine for first step quickness. But guess what’s wrong? You’re standing up doing those exercises. Give this a try & watch your INF stay low. @PicknPivot @CoachMongero @Libkepro

I consider myself lucky to have witnessed the entirety of Prince Fielder’s career — even if it was far too short. There’s no player I miss watching more than Prince.

Learn to create angles to the ball to get the SH (short hop). I tell my Infielders to create a V! @PicknPivot @Libkepro @NateTrosky @InfieldVitamins

Working on first step to the ball. Quick first step is key to being an elite infielder. @Libkepro @InfieldVitamins @NateTrosky

Parents…don’t fall for this scam. Exit velocity. Johnny is 9 years old. He needs to learn how to consistently barrel the baseball way before worrying about exit velocity Learn to hit the ball on the barrel every swing. The exit velo will come.

Yankee’s Anthony Volpe with a perfectly timed vault steal. He’s one of baseball’s best base runners, certainly the Yankee’s best. Unfortunately after this play he failed to score from 2B with 1 out on a 2B to CF because he was between tagging & going 1/2 way.

I've been Coaching Varsity H.S. Baseball since 2007. Every year I notice the incoming freshmen know just a little less than the class they replaced. Lack of knowledge with base running, bunting, rundowns and basic pick offs are the biggest things we need to teach. Thoughts?

I’ll say it: If you’re a high school kid that thinks JUCO is a bad option… have fun competing with a 22 to 24 year old for playing time.

Bat testing in college baseball... pointless. Within 10 minutes of receiving the testing equipment and the bat stickers, we had a way around it. I'm not saying that we did work around it, I'm just saying that we knew how, and so did many others we played against.
