*Digital Literacies for Human Connection* Book FULL Manuscript is now submitted for peer review at our publisher. SO EXCITED! GO TEAM! @ambi24 @mettalrose Rich Shivener
You may have already seen this, but the #4C26 CFP is explicitly asking that we NOT write for the theme!!!
Peer Review is only useful for the person getting feedback? WRONG! My new substack post explains what I took from a recent teaching observation, and gives my hot take on why the word "hearing" is better than "listening"! davidcoad.substack.com/?r=ohetw&utm_c…
GREAT NEWS: I've accepted a new position as an Assistant Teaching Professor at @SantaClaraUniv! Jesuit universities are known for excellent teaching and ethical critical thinking, so I'm proud to be a part of that! Thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way!
Probably (finally) following my rhetoric and composition / academic colleagues over to BlueSky due to Elon-algorithmicization here. Would love to connect with you there, @dcoad, same handle as here!
Hey #cwcon #cwcon25 hosts--I know it's early to know for sure, but will there be a shuttle from the Atlanta airport, since it's an almost 2 hour drive? Too long for a Lyft for sure...
Who’s ready for some live tweeting at #4C25 in Baltimore? @mettalrose and my proposal about our upcoming book project (with @ambi24 and Rich Shivener) was accepted! Looking forward to preseting about the changing landscape of humanistic digital literacies!!!
We extended the proposal deadline for Made Not Only in Grades to Friday, August 30th! Please share with your colleagues. We're excited to hear about the multimodal + social justice assessment practices happening in your classes. @LitaStarr @gavyJ sites.google.com/view/multimoda…
The book *Digital Literacies for Human Connection* is now under contract with the National Council of Teachers of English - NCTE!!!! So thankful to be working with @ambi24 @mettalrose & Rich Shivener on this project.
I didn't watch the full keynote, but is there going to be a way to turn OFF ChatGPT integration on your iPhone? I know plenty of people who hate giving AI new food/data, and would not use an iPhone with the possibility of this.
I’ve been working on something! Huge thanks to all the journals and editors and presses who listened to this idea and wanted to support it. Check it out ⬇️
Announcement: A new resource for #writingstudies #rhetoric #composition. I’ve been working on developing a space for audio texts in writing and rhetoric: audio articles, audio chapters, and audio books.
#TechComm #TPC #TeamRhetoric folks how do you define technical communication for your students?
It’s official y’all 🙌🏻 check it out: digitalcommons.usu.edu/cgi/viewconten… @USUEnglish @USUAggies
Interesting hearing students argue FOR humanistic endeavors in this article about a university that hired a robot as its commencement speaker. (I forgot who posted this already on Twitter, otherwise I’d cite them) insidehighered.com/news/tech-inno…
TODAY we are receiving the full chapter drafts from accepted proposals for the edited collection Digital Literacies for Human Connection, and Y’ALL, this is gonna be a mega-useful book!
Wise to share only when consent is clear.
