Today we wrapped up data collection for the year! Thank you to the 600+ families we saw in 2023 for making it a truly memorable year ð. Wishing you all a restful holiday season. GlÃĶdelig Jul âïļ
We look forward to welcoming many more babies (and making many more of these .gifs...for parents ð)
This week we finally started data collection for our new longitudinal projects on the emergence of self! Brand new lab space and lots of people making this happen, including @_emy @SketchySk @VelisarM and @SINeLabDTU @DEVOMINDLab
Congratulations to @dora_kampis for a great talk on Altercentric bias in 14-month-olds' semantic processing @Tweet_JPS today! ð more about her work in the poster session tomorrow: PO3.9 Infants start out altercentric and become more self-focused with age
Research from our lab was just featured @Tweet_JPS conference yesterday as part of a symposium organised by Katarina Begus with @CecileGal, @FrancescPoli and @varga_blnt. Thanks to the excellent researchers who took part in our symposium and all who came to hear about our work!

Continuing conference season with #JPS2023 in Madrid at the beautiful Ateneo

ðĢ job advert ðĢ Our lab is growing! @dora_kampis is looking to hire a postdoc in developmental social cognition for her new project on infantsâ memory and self-perspective. Infos below.
I invite applications for a 3-year postdoctoral position, on a project titled âThe role of infantsâ emerging self-perspective in memory developmentâ, at @DEVOMINDLab @CopenhagenPsych Job ad: jobportal.ku.dk/videnskabeligeâĶ for more info, get in touch with me :) spread the word!
Our very own @dora_kampis is featured as researcher of the week for the danish independent research fund. Read more about her DFF-funded project on the development of memory and self in the link below ð
We recently welcomed a group of high school students from the International School of Hellerup who are studying psychology to our lab! We talked about the kind of research we do here, the methods we use and what they can tell us about developing cognition @CopenhagenPsych
One of the first projects started @devomindlab is finally out! With @vhsouthgate, Dimitris Askitis @SketchySk, &non-tweeting Helle Duplessy, we show that preschoolers do better on a communicative perspective-taking task (Director task) after a brief imitation-inhibition training.
Like adults, preschoolers trained on inhibition of imitation do better on a perspective-taking task. Why? We think it may have more to do with attention than control. Sharing this new paper from our @DEVOMINDLab, led by @dora_kampis. srcd.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/cdâĶ
Here @CopenhagenPsych, we have Babylabs doing both basic and applied research, all with the aim of a better understanding of how early development shapes children's futures. Check out our new film featuring some very cute ðķðķ@DEVOMINDlab @mette_vaever video.ku.dk/video/83257487âĶ
Great to have @celestekidd from @UCBerkeley give a wonderful impromptu talk on information sampling, uncertainty and certainty at our @DEVOMINDLab meeting today!
Check out this short video we made about our @DEVOMINDLab to show parents what we do here, and why. We think it turned out very nicely ðķ youtu.be/1FLRWoPIIA8 via @YouTube

New work from our @DEVOMINDLab led by @_emy with @SketchySk and @VelisarM in which we provide initial evidence using pupillometry that the emergence of a self-representation at ~18 months may be critical in experiencing a conflict in perspectives. direct.mit.edu/opmi/article-aâĶ
Thank you to our friends and colleagues @AarhusUni for hosting the #CogSciAarhus #CogSci2022 satellite event. We look forward to visiting again soon!
