Cheers to the late Harriette Curley, a @DrakeUniversity grad hired at Perkins Elementary in @DMschools 75 years ago this fall. Bigoted parents protested. Administration supported her. She persevered, a successful career. 1st Black FT teacher since segregated DM schools of 1870s.
