There are no lorries or vans bringing aid to Gdańsk. People are moved here and it’s the humanity of the people here that helps them. Just because they’ve gone doesn’t mean they don’t need help. I’ve done my best but it won’t last long.

As a way of understanding huge pressure cities like Warsaw under: there are 120,000 Ukrainian kids now living in the city. Before the war there were 280,0000 Polish kids in the Warsaw school system. So in two months the number of children to educate has gone up by about 40%.

Just when I thought the day was over, a chance meeting at Tesco rewarded me with a run out to the southern hills one and a half hours away with a mother and 3 young children. Missed the restaurant but they will sleep in safety.
