Alzheimer’s disease is a serious condition that has affected many of us. Did you know Black Americans are at twice the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease? But there has not been enough research to find out why. We need your help!
Congrats to our summer research program student, Noah, for a well accomplished summer and a job well done discussing the lab’s research today! I am extremely happy to have helped make an impact on his research career 🧠🚗 @DRIVESProject @ArchesStudy

Thrilled to have our work on #poverty as a major risk factor for #dementia in 🇿🇦 published in @JAMANetworkOpen. Poverty is multidimensional & contributes to a 2.31x risk of dementia. Next step: collect follow-up data. @WashUNeurology @BrownSchool @go2uj @ISTAART #DiversityPIA
In this cross-sectional study, multidimensional poverty was associated with higher prevalence of #dementia among older adults in South Africa. Low education, poor health, and unemployment had the strongest associations with poverty. ja.ma/3NflTYW
