Šmits is one of the more interesting EU defenders in this draft. Dynamic flashes, tools, and the measurables to play in an NHL top-four one day. He seems like an interesting dude as well -- unique personality.

Already the best game of the day -- the pace of that first period was ridiculous.
Chase Reid's activations have been crazy in this game. He's dropping down the weakside for catch-and-releases, joining rushes to create odd-mans, working downhill off the point on-puck. His involvement is already so impactful. There's risk/reward there, but that's a given.
An underrated part of this Öhgren goal is how he dominated Hampus Lindholm to break free of the box-out attempt.
