Florence Nightingale raised awareness of the devastation of avoidable deaths in the Crimea War using her beautiful coxcomb but what if she used SPCs. What would that have looked like? It would have looked like this (using the qicharts2 package in #rstats)

This is something the team is tackling but we know we aren’t alone and others may have already solved this. Let’s share the knowledge in whatever language works for you!

Please can we stop calling them “soft skills”? They’re not soft. They’re actually quite hard, because otherwise everyone in leadership positions would have them. Just because something is difficult to quantify, doesn’t make it soft.

Awesome Shiny repo here and they credit our GitHub repos for inspiring some of this work! Isn't that nice? Sharing is caring, folks ♥️♥️♥️ github.com/nhsbsa-data-an…

We would already have shared our theographs but we face a significant barrier because nobody will reassure us that we can share code that implies proprietary database schemata, and the vendor of that database refuses to talk to me about it

Do you have a fantastic healthcare analytics case study you want to share with the rest of the world? We're looking for shining examples of the below methodologies - we'll even help write it up for you! Simply DM us and our comms team will be in touch.

Doing new things and learning new skills is a key part of the role responsibilities in the team. See, e.g. github.com/ChrisBeeley/no… where the recommendation is that 10% of analyst time is protected for learning

We're going through a "write stuff down/ SOP" phase in the team at the moment, I thought it might be a good idea to write (and publish) some stuff about meetings- Monday standup, code review, one-to-one supervision meetings... Anyone done this before and have anything to share?

CDU Data Science Team reposted

Incidentally, some don't realise that R and RStudio are not the same thing. The stuff you read on the internet will probably make more sense if you have this information, that's why I'm mentioning it (e.g. upgrading R != upgrading RStudio)
