Primary schools receive a ‘Compare your good level of development (GLD)’ report from DfE. It compares actual GLD to a contextual estimate based on demographics. If they can do this at EYFS, maybe could do same at KS2 and do away with RBA. 🤔 gov.uk/guidance/compa…

QLA is an extremely common practice in schools. It sounds like it makes sense. Go through a paper, see which questions students did badly on. Respond accordingly. What does Becky Allen think about QLA? She doesn't mince her words! Tune in and share :)

I'm not blithe about accountability or anti-test. And as long as teaching and learning occurs mostly on public dollars, there will be oversight and strings. But test-driven accountability hasn't a lot to show for itself. That should at least make us curious about alternatives.

This from today’s SchoolsWeek states that 13% parents have made 2 or more formal complaints to their school in the past year. ~ 9m school children ~ 5m families ~ 700k parents made 2+ complaints. So, as many as 2 million formal complaints per year. 🤯
