RIP to one of the main methods for true memory-only payloads on macOS

macOS malware often (ab)uses APIs such as NSCreateObjectFileImageFromMemory, NSLinkModule etc) to execute in-memory payloads. Apple has recently updated dyld3 (+these APIs), such that the in-memory payload is now first/always written out to disk 💾 See: github.com/apple-oss-dist…

Some projects of #DeforaOS are experimenting with GitHub's workflows. The current goal is simply to complete builds and pass the tests. The generation of Makefiles is already working, by bootstrapping libSystem and configure explicitly.

FWIW, @DeforaOS gets updates again on Open Hub! openhub.net/p/DeforaOS

I had to issue bugfix releases for @DeforaOS libSystem (0.4.2), libMarshall & libApp (0.3.2), and configure (0.4.1). In other news libDesktop 0.4.0 is out, now defaulting to Gtk+ 3. This impacts most of the desktop applications, which I will re-release ASAP.

In the past few weeks, I have released @DeforaOS libc 0.5.0, libSystem 0.4.1, libMarshall and libApp 0.3.1, configure 0.4.0 and libDatabase 0.0.2. Next I will try to release the current code for the desktop environment, and update it in @pkgsrc as well.

Long time no tweet... A positive update today: the projects hosted with Git can finally be browsed again on defora.org directly!

I just released @DeforaOS #libc 0.4.1; see git.defora.org/gitweb/?p=libc… for a few notes.

In other news, the #DeforaOS libc now works on #OpenBSD/i386 (with stack protector disabled for the moment). Thanks @devious_shell for the support!

The website is down again, for a different reason now... I have to ask for your patience, sorry 😕

It was long overdue, but defora.org is finally back online!

The main website for the project at defora.org is currently not available, but hopefully back up within next week; sorry!

Currently migrating defora.org - trying to keep the downtime minimal.

New release of #libc: 0.3.0! This time with dlopen(NULL), regex.h (through PCRE 8.40) and tons of fixes. It is at defora.org/os/project/dow… :)

The #DeforaOS libc does regex now, thanks to a PCRE plug-in - and to a big improvement in libdl, which can even look at itself now!
