Placing a vulnerable child with complex needs in the same physical classroom as other children in their grade without any additional supports for their safety and academic success is NOT true inclusion. Don’t use “equity” as an excuse to shortchange our kids. #OntEd

Mohawk has also canceled the educational assistant program due to low enrolment, this should be front page news. We need more EA’s in classrooms. No one wants this job where you are treated so poorly and not paid a properly

Olivia Chow is the FIRST racialized person to become mayor of Toronto. Talk about representation! It only took 189 years (since 1834) to see some representation. History is made today. It's worth celebrating!

When kids struggle to learn, it can lower their self-esteem. They might have been told they’re not trying hard enough. Or they might worry that they’re not as smart as other kids. If they’re ashamed about their struggles, socializing can feel even harder.

A learning disability is NOT the same as an intellectual disability. A lot of people think that learning disabilities are related to intelligence. WRONG! Most people with LD have average or above-average intelligence.

Using assistive technology is NOT cheating. It is levelling an uneven playing field so that students can access curriculum and show what they actually know. Equity is not everyone getting the same thing. It is everyone getting what they NEED.
