An Oakland mother said she and her kids have cell phones because they are essential for her to speak with family in Mexico and El Salvador. The internet and cable, for that matter, are luxury items she can't afford. She is trying to get help thru @techXorg bit.ly/2VO7har

It’s #teacherappreciationweek and the best way to appreciate a teacher is to connect them with their students! We have so much respect for all the educators working to teach in this new normal - and a special shout-out to DfS co-founder and teacher, Brigitte! 🍎

Like many parts of rural California, WiFi is extremely limited in Plumas County, CA. When we heard from Quincy High English teacher, Kristy, about the problem, we were able to get 100 WiFi hot-spots with 3 months of prepaid data to the families in need! #givingtuesday

Teachers, students, and parents are making a real time transition to remote learning. We've all been thrown in the deep end, and it's highlighting some core gaps in the system. #flattenthelearningcurve #accessgap #covid19

50% low income families are worried about e-learning because they don't have a device/internet at home, and unemployment is growing. Finding a new job without internet is extremely difficult, especially when the library isn't an option. If you can help, $150 gets a family access.

With more information from how many students are able to log into their remote classrooms, the digital divide is even more staggering than we thought. The stats are scary. We can help make them less so. $150 gets a student total access. Donate today at bddy.me/2yVi61u

Internet is something many take for granted and only truly appreciate when something goes wrong. There are ~1 million students in CA without internet at home, unable to connect to their friends, trusted adults, and schoolwork. Help #FlattenTheLearningCurve #ConnectedFutures
