COMEDY, one of the screenwriters seven basic plots. And Laughter is one of life's medicines for sure, it can be good for the heart. Moment to moment day to day laughter helps right the wrongs, it can provide balance, perspective. Hope you have a good laugh today.

My favorite movie of all time is the, "Matrix." The first one. It tells a deep spiritual story. There's amazing action, adventure, Romance. The battle between good and evil delivered in high concept. It set a new standard.

Writing is re-writing.

IMPACT. Not always loud or big, often subtle, still, quiet. Either way it must be present. In my opinion in the first 3 pages. Give me a reason to watch, read. The, "bathroom test." If Someone gets up to use the bathroom during the movie, it's not a good sign. Just my opinion.

"What if?" That's the question that must be asked before one writes anything. From conception, to the end and through all the re-writes, "What if?" It always works in helping us write imaginative brilliant, say-what stories.

So what if I just punched grandma in the mouth? Lol! Kidding.

When your forehead looks like a pull-shade, it's time for botox.

VOYAGE AND RETURN is a fascinating plot. It brings about a sense of adventure, anticipation. At the core of Voyage and Return is a sense of adventure. This gins up the emotions with a sense of change. And that is always interesting as the horizons of our human experience expand.

Plot: the Quest. This is storytelling. When our audience is fully engaged after watching your movie they’ve gained understanding because the PLOT was clear. They leave, hopeful or not, depending on the story. Maybe challenged or inspired, informed. Entertained for sure.

Plot, Rags to Riches. The real story is what happens to the character. How one deals with wealth. Do they change are they generous or stingy? Private or flashy? Does your characters personality change? Where do they go, what do they do? Or remain as they are? Make it interesting

Screenwriters speak a different language, yet very humane. Translated it comes out as the humane experience. "the good the bad and the ugly." It's a lot like writing code for computers.

Monsters, Intrigue. Word studies are helpful. They increase understanding which expands imagination, equips us to tell a much richer story. Spin that yarn Peel back that onion. Set up, set up, reveal, hence, intrigue. Now what? Tell me more. No….Yes! What? No way? Way!

Only 7 basic plots. 1, Overcoming the monster. 2,Rags to Riches. 3, The quest. 4, Voyage and return. 5, Comedy. 6, Tragedy. 7, Rebirth. The animation movie "A Monster Calls," is a good plot example of "overcoming the monster." Which upon reflection we find is usually within.

Genre's. Personally my favorite is, "exploitative." It gives writers the license to push boundaries off the edge as to creativity. Tarantino is a master in writing and film-making in this genre and his stories are provocative and unforgettable.

Storytelling, 1 of the top 3 things we do. Our past, present and future, our fears, beliefs, humor and hopes. Some are comedic, dramatic, sensual, sad, horrific, adventures. Our imagination can help create impact-full stories that last forever.

Somewhere someone wrote, "Words frame the Universe." From a storytellers perspective this statement is profound and true. The depth and reach of imagination paired to the written word. Unlimited possibilities.
