This has been one of the better and more original twists on a “trip report” in a long time. Great content. If you are using today as a travel day, it’s a good binge listen.

Epcot Candlelight Processional Narrator Challenge Round 4:

Epcot Candlelight Processional Narrator Challenge Round 3:

Epcot Candlelight Processional Narrator Challenge Round 2:

In honor of the start of the Candlelight Processional season at Epcot let’s do a bracket style battle royale to see who’s the best Narrator this year. No seeding. Just went by chronological order. Round 1:

Muppets Rockin Roller Coaster could be fun, but it could also be lazy. It has the feeling that this could be more of a “souped up overlay” than a significant redesign of the area/ride.

Good for Rhode for putting this long standing rumor to bed. It’s nothing more than a business decision not to fix it.

No that rumor is not true. The issue is a complex interface between finance, operations, marketing, design, timing, engineering, s narrative l, and … guest satisfaction. All of these need to line up to make a viable solution. There are solutions. There are not opportunities.

It seems Iger was given the role to ensure that the company stayed on track. He’s one of the most powerful businessman alive. If things keep going south with Chapek, I bet we get stories leaked on how Iger worked to try and stop him. Iger likes his legacy wsj.com/articles/disne…

Someone should tell these guys they’re not “re-electing the position of CEO” at the board meeting. The anti-Chapek crowd would have so much more credibility, if they didn’t just keep shooting themselves in the foot by showing they have no clue how the company operates.

While it lacks the size and traditional style of many of the other Disney Resort Christmas trees, I’ve always felt the unique look, colors and floral accents of the tree at the Polynesian Resort put it in the top tier. Agree? Disagree?

It’s not his fault, but a legit problem Chapek does have is he just doesn’t have the cool charisma of Iger. abc7.com/entertainment/… via @abc7

Chapek putting it bluntly here. The Company’s job is to make money not make sure theaters survive. The IMAX Disney+ deal announced this week was not a good sign for theaters. apple.news/AhYoPPRD_TZe9s…

This is a big problem in general today in film. Making movies whose main goal is to set up future movies is not a good film making or storytelling. The issues this Dune film has are a direct result of this approach.

Denis Villeneuve says 'Dune: Part 2' will have more action and less talking "I laid the base [of] the world, it's done ... Now I can just have fun with cinema" 🔥 (via @Fandango)

1000%. So many pundits are pointing to HBOMAX as the reason why most of these films are struggling at the box office and ignoring the fact that most of this slate was never going to do well regardless. Why not at least try to use these films to boost the streaming service.

I still maintain that one of the reasons Warner Bros. put its 2021 theatrical releases on HBO Max was precisely because most of its slate was a commercial coin toss (at best).

Overall a pro Johansson article with some new details, including that ScarJo’s team asked for an 80 million dollar payment on top of the 20 million she was already paid. It feels like everyone needed to be a bit more reasonable here. apple.news/AA-qc6C_YQcS63…

Bob Iger bumbled his succession for years and then completely fumbled it to Chapek at the worst possible time, the beginning of a global pandemic. If you’re angry about Chapek you have to be angry at Iger.

Just got around to @BurnettRM’s deconstructing of Last Crusade on WINEning about movies. It was entertaining and also informative. I feel like I’m a more educated movie viewer from it. I can still watch the movie but also be aware of the significant movie making flaws present.

LAST CRUSADE is far from perfect. From the film’s opening, which expects you to believe Indy became Indy in one afternoon to the shameful treatment of Brody and Salah, it has many issues.

I appreciate that it’s trying something new, that it’s “art”, that it will probably all come together very well at the end, but Wandavision is not the best way to start Phase 4. Someone has to say it.

Not sure Shonda Rhimes is coming off as good as she thinks she is with this story. pagesix.com/2020/10/21/sho…

A credit to the cast members and also the guests for doing their part. It also feels like a shot at those who are keeping Disneyland closed. nytimes.com/2020/10/09/bus…
