Yes! Self-pay patients are less costly for the Drs to serve. Their price is not a discount but a direct reflection of the costly inefficiencies imposed by insurance companies.
Cash patients ARE payers without the ins co created high cost to docs for staff to pre-authorize, code, file, wait for payment, fight for payment, get denied, dispute, and MAYBE get paid + the emotional toll on them. Cash-up-front pts are a blessing and deserve that discount.
