For cricket’s sake we need great coaches and mentors who can inspire and keep the love of the game alive. Unfortunately we have not many great ones and they all tend to be managers and end up demotivating. The culture of cricket/coaching needs to change. Well done to boys and you

So very proud to support the development of these fine young guns from @BiddestoneCC @Potternecc @corshamcc @MarlboroughCC @MCol_Cricket in prep for @wiltsccc_scores @Lions_sports_Tr Sri Lanka tour. 4 run outs, 8 catches, 507 runs, and 25 wickets between them....great outcomes!

Loving the work of a @wiltsccc_scores @Potternecc @BoACricketClub U11 giving it the ’whole nine yards’ of engagement to work on his head travel and energy transfer in to the ball. Great stuff and getting better and better. 👏🏏

Loved bringing a highly enjoyable year of coaching to a close with an oil-change session for a @wiltsccc_scores U15 + EPP player from @MCol_Cricket @MarlboroughCC. Dug deep and resolved some technical issues with head and feet and transferring weight through the ball effectively.

Seeing Ryana McDonald-Gay and Alexa Stonehouse as Surrey players is a real kick in the teeth for Kent fans. Only funding the “elite” tier of women’s county cricket is so wrong. Kent invest in these brilliant players and Surrey reap the benefits.

love it

But Gavaskar’s way of doing it is the most interesting method. The tale of “imaginary wall” - here chronicled by Martin Crowe – a batting tips that was given to him by Sunny when Crowe was working as a groundsman at Bradford. END/

First autumn session tune-up for a @Potternecc @wiltsccc_scores U12. Talented player looking to kick-on. Looked at the very basics of setup and processes and keeping it simple, and whilst much to do next time around, progress definitely on its way. Great work young man. 👏🏏

Starc is getting ready for BGT. 💀

Influence of other sports can be good, can be bad. A @Potternecc @wiltsccc_scores u11 had been focussing on golf of late and his head and feet had practically stopped moving. We chose methods to try and get them back on track. We tested the on-drive - seemingly we chose wisely!🔥

I've posted a lot of content of my hobby on here - mostly in recognition of the hardwork of the players. Times have changed and the fruit smells less sweet and definitely tastes sour now.....other platforms are available so DocPJW will begin to transition to bsky/instagram.

End of a hard work session on hitting through the ball with a @corshamcc @wiltsccc_scores U13. Enjoys hitting big so embraced whilst encouraging shape to be held through the hit. Not so sure about the camera work though! We will get there with both!

Great first session with a @corshamcc @wiltsccc_scores U15. Looking to build more power in to shots so began by looking at improving setup, alignment and getting through the ball. Really good results as method embedded into his play. Top engagement from the young man. 👏

An @Potternecc U17 allrounder back in for more work to keep it simple. Looked at aspects of alignment + weight distribution. Getting sat on the ‘radiator’ allowing head over hands over feet + giving no reason to do anything but get that head in to the finishing line of the ball!

Working with a @BiddestoneCC @wiltsccc_scores U11 to develop his batting game. Finished off with a challenge to encourage intentful movements through the ball tying in to the work of the session. First ball said he was well on message!!! Top lad!

Finishing off a hard yards session with a @Middlesex_CCC @mccc_youth U13s keeper. Tired but lots of free-flowing effort creating good shapes and great grabs. Brilliant efforts fella!

Distractions and nicks with a @Middlesex_CCC @MCCC_Youth U13 keeper - great tracking of the ball despite tired legs! Focussed and ready. Top work!

Tracking the ball practice with a @Middlesex_CCC @MCCC_Youth U13. Been using wobble cushions to promote efficient and balanced tracking of the line of the ball by the sternum for years. Never fails to develop even the best young gun keepers. authentic! Great work Young man! 🏏

Having fun developing a @Middlesex_CCC @mccc_youth U13s keeper under ‘load’.

Lending a hand to an @AveburyCC U13 heading to an assessment day. Generally struggles to play as late and dynamically as he might, but after some hard yards we got him climbing through Point of Contact in a decent manner. Loving his work ethic!🏏 👊

Working with a @Potternecc allrounder keen to develop his batting. Tall + long levers but was generally not using height to travel in to Point of Contact. Pleased to make good progress towards much fuller +free-flowing movements - good weight transfer + impulse in to the ball.💫
