How fascinating, yet completely misleading and confusing in nearly every facet. A “hidden chapter in the Bible?!” Dan Brown, eat your heart out. Maybe just read the researcher’s article instead. #NTStudies apple.news/A5qJjoni8ToiO8…

Scientists Have Discovered an Ancient Hidden Chapter in the Bible
UV photography revealed it was buried under layers of other text.
Reading “Chagall’s Cathedral: Faith, Hope, and Love in the Art Institute’s Modern Wing” by @millinerd. Just a beautiful assessment. Despite best efforts, the world was never disenchanted (reminds me of Seven Brief Lessons in Magic by Paul Tyson).
Does anyone else find it strange that Putin chose to meet at a playground for this photo op? #putin #ukraine
My 4yo daughter is walking around saying, “poop… poop… poop… Dad, it’s your phone. Get it.” She’s a ringtone genius. #parenthood
I remember this… except it was a movie released in the 90s called Fievel Goes West featuring the likes of Dom DeLuise, Jimmy Stewart, and John Cleese and it was amazing. Get rotated, late to the game book version. #90s #Fievel #ThereAreNoCatsInAmerica
RIP Anthony Thiselton, a great soul. I had the good fortune to be his last doctoral student (certainly not his best). The man knew (and forgot) more than I will in two lifetimes. You will be missed.
I’m not simply being rude when I describe most “atheism” in the modern world as born of deep ignorance about religion and theology. Incidentally “sceptics” like the OP aren’t actually interested in these questions — they think they already know the answers
For the skeptics, those are very interesting questions. For the religious, these are blasphemy.
My 7yo is wrastlin’ with the dog when he yells, “Agh! My under glands!” I don’t even want to check #parenting
The “skip intro” button on the Parks and Recreation opening sequence is ridiculous #ParksAndRec
Showed my 7yo Caravaggio paintings from a recent trip to Rome. His response? “Oh yeah. He colors inside the lines.” Yes. Yes he does. #parenting
This contains my essay arguing that magic is the necessary third mediating term between science and religion.
Finally arrived today! Co-edited with @johnmilbank3, and with a terrific group of thoughtful contributors, an attempt to take a fresh look at science and religion. ToC below.
Because teachers are quitting for 90,000 reasons and leaving the field for good! #teaching
Translating a book from German to English for publication and I’ve hit translation delirium. “That makes sense to me… is that how we, according to grammar rules, with hopes of sense-making, sentence-form in English language?” #Academia #publishing
Check my review of Farrow’s commentary in CBQ 84-3! It’s good to have something in print again. #academiclingo
Another example of how not to review a book. “The mailman was rude when he gave me the package and the tape was askew. One star!”
