Hard not to see the timing here.. as soon as the BMA challenges the Government, their long-held role gets watered down. Framed as ‘broader consultation,’ it really feels like sidelining the frontline GP voice at a critical time. Classic Labour. pulsetoday.co.uk/news/breaking-…

BMA set to lose exclusive GP contract negotiating role in England
Exclusive: The Government is overhauling the way it decides on the terms of the GP contract starting from 2026/27, diluting the BMA's role.
It’s wild watching people bend over backwards to avoid the one comparison that instantly exposes the problem. The US is the only major system that simply cannot pad out training with years of cheap service work. ACGME and CMS rules won’t allow it. You have to train, not fill…
Now we know why Rishi Sunak refuses to negotiate with NHS staff. He wants the strikes to go ahead, so he can blame doctors and nurses for his failure. #PMQs
3️⃣ Those extra years aren’t delivering more training. They exist because juniors are used to plug rota gaps, staff understaffed wards, and carry a huge service load. Long training ≠ higher standards. Long training = dependence on cheap early-career labor.
Morning, A request for help: I recently moved up north (near Bolton) and I’ve been on supply ever since. I need a permanent job. Science teacher. 20yrs exp. Schools don’t always advertise on the TES so if anyone knows anyone, please pass this on? I’d really appreciate it!
Don’t tell me you aren’t killing the NHS, because that’s exactly what you are doing, Wes. Own it
'Don't tell me you don't want to be out on strike - because that is exactly where you are. Own it.' As resident doctors walk out again, @wesstreeting calls out the 'reprehensible and cartel-like behaviour' of their union.
With every resume we receive, we get closer to a better future for New York City—one where excellence in public services is the norm, not an anomaly. This is how we shape a politics that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
Wes Streeting is misleading the public when he uses 28.9% pay rise for doctors. That’s over three cumulative years , recommended by DDRB after decades of pay erosion. We need to support our resident doctors for the future of our NHS.
and the blatant, in plain sight, ,desire to replace doctors with non doctors and nurses with nursing associates in order to drive down cost, shorten and dumb down training and disempower professionals is worse than neglect - it is a calculated, cynical act of harm
Nurses don’t want to strike. Ambulance workers don’t want to strike. Patients don’t want NHS strikes. So why does the Government continue to refuse to negotiate with the unions who want a deal to avoid strikes?
Wife bought something on FB Marketplace but she's afraid she'll get kidnapped so she sends me to pick it up from a guy who's wife sent him because she's afraid to get kidnapped.
When this happens to a public figure, courtesy of someone who’s followed by 100’s of thousands, parroting the racist bile of the NF in the 70s & there’s hardly a murmur from any of the media or any of our political hacks, we’re in a cesspit (whether you like @zarahsultana or not)
Really… I want my politicians back… you know, the ones who debate, consider, support and work to bring the Country together not rant like the angry person in the corner of the pub hating every new face they see.
Thank you, New York City. Together we made history. Now let’s get to work. transition2025.com
New Yorkers faced a clear choice - between hope and fear - and just like we've seen in London - hope won. Huge congratulations to @ZohranKMamdani on his historic campaign.
The British right desperately hoped a Muslim was involved in the train attack. Turns out there was. But he was saving lives.
Mamdani brings Rooseveltian vision, youthful energy and pragmatic hope to the Big Apple. Wishing our Democratic nominee great success today.
