So replay can determine it was a pass, but not intentional grounding, which was not called because they thought it was a fumble? Minnesota teams lead all leagues in weird rules interpretations that cause rules changes.

Amen and Amen. So much truth in a in such a short statement.

If you're more passionate about the promises of your politics than the promise of the Savior, you need a gut check on your idols. If you’re more concerned about the enemy you perceive in another political party than the enemy of your soul, you need a new set of eyes.

Thank you, Jesus, for giving us an example to follow.

The only person I’ve met who I completely agree with is me. And I changed my mind. We can grow. Let’s keep it humble out there today. The longer I live the smaller grows my circle of certainties. Hopefully my circle of mercy & careful listening is growing.

“I will arise and go to my father” The prodigal’s decision is our morning confession “Where else can we go? You have the words of eternal life.” Peter’s affirmation is our midday resolution “Stay with us… the day is spent.” The disciple’s invitation is our evening petition.

God seeks worshippers not worship. He neither needs nor gains anything by our worship, but shares his life with all who seek the Seeker. Worship is first a gift God gives us before it is an action we offer to him.

Amen and Amen!

We all desire our faith to grow. Yet the issue is not the strength of our faith but the strength of the object of that faith. I have weak faith I wish was stronger, but I have a strong Savior. I am his, not because my trust never wavers, but because his love never fails.

A relentless pursuit!

Peter went fishing but was caught in Jesus' net. Paul sought to arrest the saints but was apprehended by the Savior. Grace & Mercy always find a way to chase us down and capture our hearts with God’s love in Christ.

Amen and Amen.

Gracious Savior, our boundless pride and self-reliance are matched only by the smallness of our humility and faith; have mercy on us this day, teaching us to boast in our weaknesses and your cross so that your power may be seen and your Name exalted. Amen.

We aren’t saved from our bodies but in them; not saved from the material world, but with it. God makes all things new not all new things. There is no part of ourselves or visible creation beyond the saving reach of Christ’s redeeming power.

Looking at the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5, I can't help observing that any notion of holiness that makes us less loving, less kind, less joyful, less patient, less peaceful, etc. is, well... mistaken. Holiness is love on fire not arrogance on ice.

This country actually already has Jesus. We just need to start living according to his example instead of trying to bend His will to fit what we want.

If you’re saying, “This country needs Jesus” while excusing political violence to achieve that stated end, it isn’t actually Jesus you’re offering the country. And before saying one more thing about the nation’s need for Jesus, please stop and realize that you do. The real one.

The cunning interior whisper saying, "Just do better and you'll be loved" is silenced and conquered by the cry from the Crucified, “It is finished." Rest in the finished work of Christ Rely on the finishing work of the word and Spirit Rejoice in the final glory that awaits.

Jesus became the adopted son of earthly father so we could be the adopted children of our Heavenly Father.

I saw that same guy but I was brushing my teeth.

Meeting several sinners today, chief among them the guy I saw in the mirror while shaving just moments ago.

I choose option 4!

Churches can hunker down in retreatism, water down in surrender, beat down in anger, or lift up Jesus in gratitude & grace. Let’s nurture churches that are faithfully, fearlessly, lovingly, humbly present for all who hunger and thirst, offering Jesus to everyone we know…

"As they were on their way, they were cleansed. When one of them saw that he was healed, he came back, praising God in a loud voice. He fell facedown at Jesus’ feet in thanksgiving to Him." LK 17 Ten were given an amazing gift of mercy. Only one gave thanks. Let's be that one!
