When we talk to clients about going back to a target memory in EMDR, we say to go back to a 'moment' or the 'incident' rather than an 'image' during processing, as a mental image can be changed or distorted over time. #EMDR #EMDRtraining #TherapistEducation #CPDForTherapists

When a traumatic experience gets processed and resolved during EMDR, it can sometimes pave the way for other traumatic memories and experiences that also need processing. Clients can feel heightened anxiety, sleep problems, and memories from the past can resurface...


Not all EMDR therapists will do this, but I often ask my clients what their take-home messages will be from that session, if they felt particularly good about something, and notice where they feel it in their body. #EMDR #EMDRtraining #EMDRTapping #TherapistEducation #CPD
