The most inaccurate thing I was told as a young coach is that it takes 3-5 years to build culture. Building culture is a daily process, you never arrive, and it doesn't get easier. You have to draw your line in the sand as far as what you stand for and compete for it daily.

One of the big reasons why I started a training academy where we train 2 days a week and play a one hour filmed/structured game and watch the tape with the kids afterword. Too many games and not enough training = injuries and lack of skill development.
