Pysanky is an ancient Ukrainian art of writing on eggs using beeswax and dyes. The word pysanky comes from the Ukrainian word pysaty (писати), "to write". Today, a grade 1 class created their own crayon pysanka works of art as we explore cultures.

National Ribbon Skirt Day - today, we honour the history of the ribbon skirt, traditionally worn in ceremonies and at special events by Indigenous women. The ribbon skirt, with its unique patterns and colours, represents identity, diversity and strength of the person wearing it.

Peer teaching about patkas! We learned that a patka is worn by Sikh children to keep uncut hair tidy. A patka can be any colour or material, and youth wear a ‘patka’ (cloth), and adults wear a ‘Pugg’ (turban).
