With electricity and gas prices where they are today, EVs are ¼ the cost to drive than a gas car and your typical EV driver saves $1,500-$2,000 per year on fuel. Many jurisdictions offer peak-pricing, meaning the cost of electricity is low at night and on weekends
EVs cost less to drive and pollute less, period. An EV uses electricity that is typically generated from sources that are cleaner than burning gasoline or diesel in a vehicle.
Technology and infrastructure advancements are making EVs an excellent alternative to gas-powered cars. You could eliminate your gas bill and become part of the sustainable movement. Best of all, driving an EV does not mean you compromise performance or fun.
Most of your charging takes place at home over night when the cost of electricity is lowest. If you need to charge while on the road, Canada has over 5,000 public charging stations, many of which are DC-Quick chargers
Lower maintenance costs EVs do not have an engine that needs maintenance or oil replacement. And in the case of pure-electric vehicles, brake use is minimal due to the regenerative braking that automatically slows the car down when you let your foot off the accelerator #ev #tesla
Extra trunk or “frunk” space: Pure EVs don’t have a combustible engine. Therefore, the front hood is empty and, in many models, used as a front trunk. #electricvehicleshow #electricvehiclesymposium #ev #tesla #evtoronto #climatechange
Plug-In Hybrid-Electric Vehicles (PHEVs): Similar to an HEV, the main difference is that a PHEV is able to plug in to charge. The Prius also comes as a plug-in version. #electricvehicleshow #electricvehiclesymposium #ev #tesla #evtoronto #climatechange
All EVs come standard with a cord set that lets you charge using a regular wall socket. Many EV drivers will install a charging station that will easily charge an EV battery from empty to full overnight. Just plug your car in, walk inside and wake up to a full carge. #tesla
Hybrid-Electric Vehicles (HEVs): HEVs combine a gas-powered engine with one (or more) electric motors. An HEV does not plug in; it collects energy through regenerative braking. The Toyota Prius may be one of the best-known HEVs. #Tesla
An EV would cost only $1 in energy to travel the same distance as a gallon of gas, which currently averages $3.04. #electricvehicle #electricvehicles #electricvehiclecharging #electricvehicleshow #electricvehiclesymposium #ev #tesla #evtoronto #climatechange
Roughly 96% of EV owners would buy or lease another one. (AAA) #electricvehicle #electricvehicles #electricvehiclecharging #electricvehicleshow #electricvehiclesymposium #ev #tesla #evtoronto #climatechange
Electric cars cost more to buy, but they're more affordable to run than gas-powered cars. For one thing, fuel costs are lower. ... Electric cars are also a lot cheaper to maintain and service because they have fewer moving parts and don't need oil changes. You can even save money

Fully electric cars sold today travel 200+ km on a single charge. There are also several plug-in hybrids available that will travel 40-80 km on electric before switching to a gasoline engine/generator for an additional 500-900 km of gas range.
Most of Canada’s electricity comes from Hydro and Nuclear, which are both low-emitting sources, and the average EV driver in Canada can reduce their vehicle’s greenhouse gas emissions by 60-90% depending on whether or not you drive a fully electric or plug-in hybrid electric car
Just last year, the City of Toronto in partnership with Hydro One installed 17 FLO chargers on residential streets across the city with more to follow in the coming years. This allows residents who may not have access to home chargers a convenient way to charge on their streets.
⚡️⚡️ The iZEV program offers up to $5,000 off the purchase of a battery electric vehicle and $2,500-$5,000 off the purchase of plug-in hybrid (depending on the electric range and the duration of any lease). learn more at buff.ly/33O2NGZ
Electric cars start from as low as $33,000 (before incentives) and most fall in the $35,000-$45,000 range. Electric cars come in all shapes and sizes from compact to midsize to SUV. There is an electric car for EVeryone. learn more at buff.ly/3Kd23Mx
Ontario will be installing at least 2 Ivy fast chargers at 20 ONroute locations along highways 400 and 401 by the end of this year! To learn more about the venture visit this website: buff.ly/3qxTwMd
Canada is committed to decarbonizing the country's transportation sector and becoming a global leader in ZEVs. As such, the Government of Canada is aiming for 100% of new light-duty sales to be zero-emission by 2035. You can learn more about Canada's ZEV sales targets here.
