The SF Board of Sups acted early on, implementing much stronger tenant protections than what is in the state bill, and these eviction protections will remain in tact. Thank you @DeanPreston and local tenants orgs and advocates.
How is this even a thing in the US? There is no reason why anyone in the US should be housing insecure. No reason. And during a global pandemic no less. We should all be #outraged by the #evictions taking place during #COVIDー19. #HousingIsLife

Reminds me of when it came out a few years ago that Oakland’s housing stock in Fruitvale was more toxic than Flint’s water supply. Housing rights may not be “sexy” but if you don’t have a healthy, stable home you can’t have health, wealth, or prosperity.

Ever since the #HastingsSettlement, we have seen increased sweeps of unhoused folks. These sweeps are cruel, against CDC guidelines and make NO SENSE. Where are people supposed to go? You can't sweep human beings as if they are garbage. #SolutionsNotSweeps #StopTheSweeps

Northern California feels like the East Coast, only more apocalyptic
If the legislature and @GavinNewsom don’t act NOW, 17% of California residents (ie 6.2 million people) will be at risk of #eviction starting September 2nd. If you thought we had a #homeless and #HousingCrisis before you ain’t seen nothing yet.
