Tas Parks & Wildlife has responded to reviews of devastating fires in 2016 and 2019 and is now training fire fighting teams in being winched into remote areas. First teams have begun training in Hobart. Previously Tas has used interstate specialists #TasCrime @abchobart

Sydney to Hobart yacht race will not be conducted for the first time in 76years because of Covid-19. Cruising Yacht Club of Aus made the announcement 4 1/2 hours after Tas Premier announced all travellers from greater Sydney have to quarantine for 14 days on arrival. @abchobart

Tasmania’s Clarence City Council has backflipped on decision not to fly Aboriginal flag outside its chambers. The Council tonight voted to permanently fly the flag from this NAIDOC week + also to fly the Torres Strait Islander flag every NAIDOC and Reconciliation week @abchobart
