Beyond parody but utterly predictable. When it was originally announced, ministers came out saying “take tax advice if you need to avoid this charge”. It is very peculiar to introduce a tax change and then have ministers tell people they should try to avoid it.

Surely the exclamation mark would be better used after ‘Bless’ than the explanatory preceding sentence. Also you’re missing an apostrophe since in the possessive that should read ‘farmers’ pile on.’ Happy new year. Ps. I hate grammar. 🤪

The conceit of this Labour government has been to lock us in triple taxation. We’re increasingly taxed on the inputs (energy), outputs (profits) and anything left over (IHT). If they could bottle air, we’d have to pay for it.
