How do neurons die? Can we revive them? Amazing #NEIfunded work with #retina as a CNS model. Implications for disease treatment, reversibility of cell death, model systems for disease. @neurofim @BWJones @SatchinPanda @MoranEyeCenter @fvinberg @Nature: nature.com/articles/s4158…
We hope this work will encourage scientists and organ donor societies to work together to scale up access to viable human nerve tissue. We believe this can make a big impact on our understanding of how our nervous system works and how it is affected in aging and disease.
Hope. Understanding. Treatment. I could not be more inspired by the mission of where I work @MoranEyeCenter and the brilliant people I have the privilege of working with. @neurofim @BWJones @fvinberg #Inspiration
