If Arthur the local pub cat could vote he would love the local LibDem policies for wandering moggs: ✅Free occasional kibble ✅ Free neck wuddles and tummy rubs. ✅Suntrap lounging spots. Real manifesto here: libdems.org.uk/manifesto @GoltonStewart 4 Wakefield and Rothwell
This report confirms what communities have known for some time. We’re getting a poor deal. LibDems in Leeds show how the Labour regime could afford to pay for extra PCSOs on our streets every year in the city’s Budget debate. Every year they refuse to listen.
Cheers. Great to see us all respecting each other. Leeds Labour act the same way as the Tories in Government. Elected dictators. Won’t listen to anyone else’s point of view. Spend money on silly things and then blame everyone else because ‘there is no money’ 1/2
It’s not all about campaigning with #Rothwell&District @LibDems, & it was great to get together this weekend with members and supporters to say thank you for all their help in getting @chapman_diane1 re-elected. Get in touch if you would like to get involved 👍🏻
Unless you increase the number of police officers on neighbourhood policing teams, and reverse your decision to cut the number of PCSOs in your budget for this year, there will be no offenders caught to offer ‘alternative’ justice to 🤷♂️
The Hare & Hounds was a welcome destination after joining Tom Leadley on his home turf in #WestArdsley for a day of campaigning. Tom’s neighbours are definitely up for a fresh start for Ardsley & Robin Hood ward with Tom as their new local councillor 🔶
Every year we recycle our stake posters, and in the process we are reminded of our brilliant colleagues, now gone, who inspired us to campaign for them, and on whose shoulders we carry on the commitment to represent our communities to the best of our abilities.
@MayorOfWY has lauded her ‘Enhanced Bus Partnership’, handed over £35million to bus companies to pay for £2 ‘Mayors Fares’, and has another £36million yet to use to improve local services. Why isn’t she using her powerful funding position to get a better deal from bus operators?
Dear BBC, a gentle reminder that this is written on the side of your fucking headquarters. If I were you, I’d be sacking the chairman who withheld the truth, NOT the presenter who told it.
Unsurprisingly Labour voted against all opposition budget amendments. Dumbing down democracy again. All the plans were fully costed and viable but apparently they know best !
Council organised bonfire night displays ensure thousands enjoy safe organised events for free. This survey is heavily weighted to justify the Labour administration’s decision to withdraw funding. Please do the survey & tell them to make the £200k savings on city centre spending
🗣️Share your thoughts on Council Bonfire Displays 🔥We provide six free bonfire and firework displays each year ❗It's proposed that future displays no longer take place from 2023 📢We are keen to learn your views on this proposal, have your say here: surveys.leeds.gov.uk/s/BZVYB7/
So why is our Labour Mayor reducing the number of PCSOs on the streets of West Yorkshire to their lowest level since 2015?
Labour will recruit 13,000 new neighbourhood police and PCSOs to tackle crime in people’s communities. After 13 years, the Conservative legacy is criminals being let off while victims are let down. Labour is the party of law and order. bbc.com/news/uk-politi…
The message is clear, even if the water certainly isn’t. Appalling.
Everyone wants Leeds to be a city where you don’t NEED to drive into the centre. Not sure hiking park and ride charges by c30% next month is how we deliver that aim! Hope @helenhayden01 and @TracyBrabin can help on this. Cost increases is one thing but these increases are huge.
Thanks @GoltonStewart for fighting for the right for free access to OUR parks. Compare with Labours Mayor who has: No parking, no busses, no clue! The Lib Dems in Leeds will keep fighting this ill thought out proposal. Sign the petition: digitallibdems.typeform.com/to/UXt4MwJ6?fb…
Leeds LibDems want more Street trees but the Labour-run Council prohibits trees being planted on residential streets and grass verges. We want to change this, as saving the environment is more important than making it easier for Council contractors to cut grass
Tell us 📢 where you’d like your street tree 🌳 planted. When a resident sponsors a tree through @treesforstreets, they get to say where they’d like it planted. Their council does a survey. If all ok, a tree is put in that following winter. treesforstreets.org
Lib Dem group leader Stewart Golton said the charges risked excluding people from “some of the few free leisure attractions left” and that there was “genuine anger” about the idea yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/politics/…
This is the car park at Rothwell Country Park the Council has closed to motorists for over a decade and is used to store detritus from work they’ve done elsewhere. The argument about needing charges to pay for maintenance would be more convincing if neglect like this wasn’t norm
