The bikeway contract was approved unanimously by the committee! Next stop is full City Council on July 18 for a final vote, then construction starting this Fall. Thanks to everyone who commented, to council for your support, and to OakDOT staff for making it happen!
I have been waiting for someone to say this. My husband consumes all information via video and I...can't? Like I can read faster than video people can talk. The fact that I am increasingly expected to learn on someone else's time scale will never stop bugging me.
I really want everyone to pivot back from video. I fucking hate video. Do not ever make me watch a video just to obtain information. Making me watch a video instead of giving me text I can read is an act of violence against me specifically. When will it end.

My hot take is that Ch*tGPT is free right now because it needs you to feed it your stories, essays, and poems for free, and when it’s done taking all you have, they’ll put it all behind a paywall.
In 5 years, San Francisco will still exist, and it'll still be a global tech/finance epicenter, and we'll all look back on this lazy pack reporting and sigh in disappointment that we didn't have a nuanced debate about what's ailing our cities.
