FIGURE OUT = understand or solve something: "I can’t figure out how this app works." "He finally figured out what was wrong with the car."


To GET RID OF something = to make it go away: "I GOT RID OF some of my old clothes" "Poison will GET RID OF the mice in your garage"


AS SOON AS = immediately when / at almost exactly the same time: "Call me as soon as you arrive." "I'll leave as soon as the meeting ends." "As soon as I lay down to sleep, the phone rang."


DROP IT (informal) = stop talking about it: "I said I’m sorry. Can we just drop it?" "She kept asking about my ex until I told her to drop it."
