This thread is good dust for teachers: a customer tells Tesco they’ve missed an apostrophe. Tesco says that it has not because there is no contraction. Who is right?

⁦Missing apostrophe on packaging and the socks - very poor ⁦@Tesco

Revamping our KS3 curriculum and need some ideas for class readers. Ditching KS3 texts like Private Peaceful etc for more academic texts. We’ve put Animal Farm, Mice and Men, Mockingbird, Journey’s End into KS3 so far. Ideas for other texts would be very welcome! Thx

Spelling and Grammar HW sheets. Spellings are organised by spelling pattern. An oldie but a goodie. Help yourself! @Team_English1 #TeamEnglish dropbox.com/sh/sq0ss0ymxxd…

I sometimes question how much (we/teachers) overcomplicate things, students just need to know the plot, characters and message behind the ideas. Of course, that does entail other factors such as writing style, themes, context. I recommend @MsMaster13 & @shadylady222 blogs!

Why I love...Addressing "the quote" in academic essays @Team_english1 a very short blog on banning "in the quote" in essays. Hopefully useful, as it does drive me mad when I read it in academic essays! susansenglish.wordpress.com/2019/06/08/why…

Here's link to my Conflict poetry Dropbox folder. I've made range of revision resources e.g. all 15 poems on one page & ppt slides for most of the poems (not all completed). May be useful? dropbox.com/sh/vwknl4vro1z…

Hi @Team_English1 #TeamEnglish I'm planning a unit on famous characters and settings, with a focus on victorian literature - extract based. Does anyone have any good extracts/ideas they'd be willing to share?
