I've written 4000 words on faith in a disenchanted world. On what faith means to me in the impossibility of theism. And where would I go when there is nowhere left to turn. Link ->

Weird feeling that "age of multipolarity" is just going to be like post-Soviet wild 90s with fierce competition for asset stripping via raiding, mass scams, except the oligarchic states will be using states rather than gangs.

One brief visit to China made me super suspicious of anything Tooze writes, despite endless respect towards his ethics wrt global politics.

Seems like I chose the wrong world historical moment to learn about baseball and american football. Perhaps I should look into cricket and rugby instead.

I don’t agree with how Maduro was removed from power. But now that he has been removed, hoping for a smooth transition to democratic restoration in Venezuela.

Still think how weird it is that making art is relatively easy, but arranging all the circumstances in which you could make art continuously on purpose is almost impossible.

Having worked with linear film and video editing only briefly, I can't imagine what it was like to navigate one's own film archive in Marker's time. Far more daunting than having an Eco sized library!

Although Infinite Jest is transparently a book of gimmicks aimed at competing for the greatest american novel, it's biggest problem is rather posing as existential truth seeking within masculine culture without attempting to look outside it. There, I finally said it.

Would probably be my "philosophical consequences of LLMs" study program

I agree! I'm still waiting that someone picks it up and talks about stuff like "living with noise injection in Daly life", "what llm observations apply to humans", "are my memories slop?", "why are human life narratives averaging so well", "is freedom just defined vectors" etc
