But they didn't just abandon Drs They abandoned the PAs who they spent the past decade lying to. And now we have a cohort of graduates facing anxiety around job losses while College Leaders clink wine glasses in Grand Halls congratulating eachother for a job well done Cowards
"DHSC and NHSE cancel all meetings with BMA GP leaders" pulsetoday.co.uk/news/politics/…
Just seen some slides on job planning for senior doctors A lot of words to simply say: Can you do less supervision, education & do more clinical work? In an environment where system is being flooded with more non-doctors and lesser qualified people- who need more supervision
I love these accounts Step one "SACK THEM ALL" Step two "Errr ugh umm" The inability to engage the frontal cortex and instead be completely beholden to the amygdala is fascinating!
It’s hard to get a GP appointment! As GPs we agree because we are patients, parents, sons and daughter too. But we also know how hard GPs are working to make sure it’s possible for as many people as possible to receive care. The problem is there aren’t enough GPs in practices
The amount of disrespect laced with jealousy- coupled with misinformation-a whole lot of the system has towards Resident Doctors is quite something to behold It's even more galling when you see Senior doctors being part of the enablement brigade of that For shame on you clowns
My Onlyfans account? It's called GPtoKindly. And I do anything you want. Literally anything. And the best bit, you can dump all of it on me and I won't even charge.
Oft It hurts when you say it like that
The UK didn’t accidentally underpay its doctors. It built a system where long, low-paid training, high debt, and a monopoly employer function like indentured servitude. Other universal systems don’t operate this way. The NHS does because politicians designed it that way.
One chart that explains exactly why the UK doctor pipeline is collapsing. #medtwitter
I've been a doctor since 1991. I've seen enough of my colleagues kill themselves because of the stress of this work to have zero f**ks left to give in dealing with people who abuse and malign us. I qualified in London, worked as a medical SHO until 1995, eventually completed GP…
A nurse, who’s just completed a 2 yr part time ACP…. now wants to assess kids with acute conditions in GP independently She admits she has NO PAEDIATRIC TRAINING AT ALL! And is asking whether she can manage acute kids in GP….by just doing an online module in paeds??!!
To put that in perspective, I was earning more (adjusted for inflation) giving people their bank balance over the phone in my first office job.
And some people still insist on using the outdated term "Junior Doctor" These people are paid £18/hr They are asking for £22/hr It's crazy that anyone thinks that's unreasonable
Most people have no idea how bad the UK doctor training system really is. It demands double the training time of other countries, pays doctors less at every stage, and then often keeps them “junior” even after they finish all their training. Look at the numbers. 🧵⬇️
Yes. It will (probably already has) lead to under skilled consultants. ACPs will train ACPs without the additional knowledge a medical degree gives. So the quality of healthcare will plummet. It’s extremely frightening
You know at this point, if people are genuinely choosing to believe one slimy, lying politician after another over doctors, it relieves us of any degree of obligation to sacrifice more to sustain a dying healthcare system. Believe Streeting, get what he has planned for you 🤷
🧵 UsForThem and their tame Telegraph hack Camilla Turner are misrepresenting UKHSA's grounds for not releasing data that anti-vaxxers think would prove covid vaccines killed vast numbers of people. They claim it's because it would distress people if a link was proven. It isn't.
Past generations allowed this to happen; broken training, broken NHS, broken promises. Our brightest minds in a spreadsheet lottery, with £100k debt & unemployment looming. Rubbish conditions, while Dr substitution costs in cash & safety. No brainer, they strike for their future.
Resident Doctors are our Generation Next To me? Support for them is steadfast and non-negotiable As simple as that You are our future.

Gather round folks, I’m going to tell a very scary story. Make sure you have a torch and a blanket and someone to cuddle: I shall tell the tale of “THE WORST NIGHT SHIFT EVER”.
So, 10am: clerked the last 3: presented them all. Home I go. 20 weeks pregnant, with hyperemesis. I *STILL* get nightmares about that night. I don’t know how all the patients survived. St Jude must have been on call too. So yes, junior Drs deserve flowers and fair pay!
