Announcing PicoLoader, an ODE-based modchip for the GameCube! Similar to PicoBoot but easier to install, no soldering directly to the GC and other improvements. Only requires a Raspberry Pi Pico, a flex PCB and a Diode. And it's open-source: github.com/makeo/PicoLoad…
If you have a GC Loader HW1, Swiss v0.6r1695 to v0.6r1867 contain a footgun that can brick your device. Please cease using these releases immediately, especially without supervision.
A new perk of a networked GameCube: RetroTINK-4K profile selection using a computer running ser2net as intermediary.
I fixed the SD2SP2's performance with the aid of a single OR gate between DI and CS. Swiss v0.6r1666 or later is required to take advantage of this hardware design change. github.com/Extrems/SD2SP2 youtube.com/watch?v=A0ybRf…

My first and last PCB. I made some mistakes, but it's working.
PSA: Don't copy multiple files simultaneously to a FAT volume or you'll wind up with tens of thousands of fragments and your embedded system will use them as tiny weapons

I'm tired of arguing the GameCube has fragment shaders, so here is Conway's Game of Life in a single-pass fragment shader using only 9 instructions, and running in 640x480 at 59.94 FPS. github.com/extremscorner/…
Pretty excited how far CubeSX / WiiSX has come. This is running on a GameCube (software rendered still): youtube.com/watch?v=lQg_up…

I'm surprised why no one openly criticizes Pluto mod. It's dumb. It irreversibly removes Digital Port from the console. There are external adapters with the same firmware (GCVideo) with no difference in quality.
GAMECUBE RANT FOLLOW-UP: I have some suggestions on how to improve this GC Pluto flex cable design so that 1) It's reliable and 2) The Gamecube can be serviced in the future as it will inevitably need to be. TLDR - I don't like the Pluto as it doesn't make sense in 2023.
I think there might be a few too many things happening inside this GameCube, but I still don't have any expansion RAM.
