A couple reflections on the quantum computing breakthrough we just announced... Most of us grew up learning there are three main types of matter that matter: solid, liquid, and gas. Today, that changed. After a nearly 20 year pursuit, we’ve created an entirely new state of…

With our Nervana NNPs - built from the ground up with a focus on AI, to provide customers the right intelligence at the right time.
Nervana/Intel have the advantage of designing a training architecture from the ground up with just the workload in mind, especially at a time when most training models no longer fit on even the largest chips. nextplatform.com/2019/08/20/int…
This event, dubbed S190814bv, could mark the beginning of a new era of astrophysical studies, with implications for how researchers understand Einstein’s general theory of relativity, the deaths of stars, and the behavior of extreme matter. go.aps.org/2L2ywaK via @sciam

Paul Dirac, theoretical physicist, was born #OTD in 1902. One of the most significant physicists of the 20th century, he made fundamental contributions to the development of quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics. He shared the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics with Schrödinger.
In 1944, Mexican physicist Carlos Graef Fernández and Albert Einstein debated competing theories of gravitation. A 1956 interview with Graef illustrates the significance of the interaction, and the rise of Mexican science programs. go.aps.org/2YYxlPl
