Spoke to FM Abdelatty to thank him for Egypt’s mediation efforts toward a Middle East peace agreement. After decades of failed attempts, there’s genuine hope for peace. We’re especially grateful as this may help the Hungarian citizen held by Hamas to finally return to his family.
After the US sanctioned Serbia’s NIS oil company, the Croatian supplier stopped deliveries to Serbia. A clear warning of the risks of relying on just one pipeline, especially from Croatia. The lesson is clear: we must keep multiple secure routes open to protect our energy supply.
We welcome the agreement between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of ceasefire and hostage release. Thanks to @realDonaldTrump’s efforts, there is finally real hope for peace and security in the Middle East. We hope the Hungarian citizen held in Gaza will be soon freed.
It was a pleasure to meet UN Under-Secretary-General @MiguelMoratinos today in Budapest. We agreed that wars must end through negotiations, not weapons, and on the need to defend persecuted Christian communities and protect freedom of religion worldwide.
According to @donaldtusk, blowing up a gas pipeline is acceptable. That’s shocking as it makes you wonder what else could be blown up and still be considered forgivable or even praiseworthy. One thing is clear: we don’t want a Europe where prime ministers defend terrorists.
The problem with North Stream 2 is not that it was blown up. The problem is that it was built.
Common sense is gone in Europe as energy security has been completely over-politicized. By diversification they mean replacing affordable, reliable energy with something more expensive and less secure. We do the opposite and @Turkic_States play a key role in our diversification.
Deciding which country is ready to join the EU and can actually become a member is not up to the President of Ukraine. It is up to the EU, where such decisions require unanimity. The Hungarian people have already made their decision, and we represent their will in Brussels.
While the EU has failed to build strategic cooperation with the Arab Gulf states, we continue to strengthen partnerships with the region. At the EU-GCC meeting, I met colleagues from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait to advance joint projects in energy, trade & investment.

We expect even @ZelenskyyUa to speak about Hungary and Hungarians with respect, especially given that Ukraine depends heavily on support from the European Union, where no decisions are made without Hungary—whether he likes it or not.
We should also support President Trump’s call to stop buying Russian oil here in Europe. It’s short-sighted to go against the USA – and guys from Hungary need to hear this clearly. Energy from the US and other partners can fill the gap on the European market.

Prime Minister @PM_ViktorOrban, it is Russia who started the war against Ukraine. It is them who decided we’re living in the time of war. And in such a time the only question is whose side are you on.
We signed Hungary’s longest-term LNG contract: from 2028 we will buy 4 bcm of gas over 10 years from @ENGIEgroup. Our energy supply is safe only if we can import from as many sources and routes as possible. Diversification means adding new sources while keeping existing ones.
