I want to take a min to defend these call of duty devs. especially treyarch. aint no way they should have been asked to create back to back black ops games. they literally set them up for failure. whoever was in charge of making that decision needs to take a look in the mirror.
All signs point to Black Ops 7 being one of the worst Call of Duty games sales wise in a long, long time. Sad because BO7 is one of the better COD games we’ve gotten in recent years but I understand why franchise fatigue and the constant merry go round has pushed players away.
FWIW: We've heard from sources that Black Ops 7 player counts has been lower than that of Black Ops 6 and MWIII during their respective few weeks after launch. But Call of Duty has many players overall that 'doing worse' than previous years is still higher than competitors.

Black Ops 7 looks like it’s following the exact same path as MWIII. Release as an updated and slightly improved version of BO6 and then go crazy on the post launch content. I will quietly enjoy this game while everyone else cries about it.
