I truly implore folks not to argue with “people” on this app about important events. You’re going to drown in a sea of bots, paid foreign accounts cosplaying as Americans, and truly the worst of our citizenry. Talk to real human beings in real life. You’ll feel better.

Hip Hop is no longer the rebel genre it once was. The message for a long time now has been “secure the bag by any means necessary,” and now we’re seeing that play out outside of music.

i never said “jim made ‘day n nite’ a hit”. hot 97 spun his version. cudi was a rookie in 2008 and jim’s remix brought a new audience to the song. cudi talked about it here in 2024.

I can maybe see that it helped gain exposure for people that listen to radio in NYC @ tha time, but for the rest of us…… it was already a hit

The Cudi/jim jones discussions really let me know a lotta yall hate New York and im fine with it, I’ll push the line with it.

That KD/LeBron father tweet is one of the weirder ones I’ve ever seen on here

This isn’t about hip-hop. Personalized algorithms and a fragmented media landscape means we exist in our own little corners of the internet. There is no more “taking over.” There is niche. Labels know this, too, which explains the layoffs in marketing and catalog investment.

2020s era Hip-Hop is so weird in the sense of new rappers taking over, there’s not a single new rapper that has made that kind of impact and we’re more than half way through the decade

The NBA dropped the ball with Drose’s jersey retirement imo. This should have been a marquee event for the league. Covered and nationally televised on NBC or ESPN for all to see. Not the WatchESPN App, CHSN or league pass only.

There is no more “taking over.” The future has no more superstars that everyone knows. Only big artists in their respective niches & subgenres

I can’t lie when demar said "If we had LeBron on our team, too, we woulda won too” it’s one of the worst things an all star player has said in sports history

Dillon Brooks says DeMar DeRozan tenure with the Raptors as a failure “I’ll be real for the city, bro. DeRozan was not holding his weight out there.” “He couldn’t win. He made the playoffs every year. One time a 1 seed. One time a 5 seed. He run into LeBron, can’t do nothing.”…

I’m one of these too. Thank God for my older siblings.

I be having to remind myself a lot of niggas ain’t start listening to Rap / Hip-Hop until junior high school so their lens is very different than mine. I really been listening to this shit since birth.

NBC lied about Michael Jordan. ESPN lied about Inside The NBA. The NBA schedule between networks is confusing as a consumer. Consumers don’t want to pay for multiple subscriptions to watch NBA games.

A lot of people from NYC told me they never heard of Kid Cudi until Jim Jones remixed it. He’s not all the way wrong. 50% of the people who are clowning him are people doing it to sound trendy bc it’s cool to hate on him On the other side of the coin, the whole debate exposes…

Basically Jim Jones is indirectly saying, HE wasn’t fully tuned in with the blog era, 10 Deep or Fool’s Gold to know if the Kid Cudi song was popping prior to him getting on the remix. With that being said, he’s wrong. As a huge Dip Set fan and Day 1 Cudi fan… I vividly…
