Defund the police like you’ve defunded education.
The money spent on the police could fund education, public health initiatives, provide healthcare for all, be used to establish a real mental healthcare system, there are sooooo many beautiful possibilities we could build towards.
Natural history museums and palaeontology are complicit in racism and colonialism. Our discipline was founded by racists, slave owners, looters. We have to acknowledge this in our displays and lectures. Not doing so is covert racism, and keeping silent on this is not enough.
