Getting an assist from DFS for tonight’s fireworks show
DFS #ISU, #Rehab, #Gator, and #Drone units are supporting @FireOnset during the #HarvestMoon Festival today and tonight. Our #SpecialOps personnel and apparatus are always ready to help local departments with emergency incidents and pre-planned events.

You could hear a pin drop at Captain Robert Feeney’s presentation about his experience at the Station nightclub fire. His fiancé and two friends died at this tragedy. He turned his grief into advocacy with @CommonVoices1 & @PSburnsurvivors. We thank him for sharing his story.

A Heat Advisory is in effect tomorrow and Friday. Cooling Centers will be open tomorrow at Onset HQ (11:00 a.m. - 4:00p.m.) tomorrow and Friday and at all Town of Wareham buildings during regular business hours. Please stay hydrated and avoid excessive outdoor activities.
Members are out on Unit 1 during Family Beach Day! The crew even brought some popsicles to hand out! Don’t forget to safe and hydrated on the beach.
Some members of OFD were on hand for the bonfire put on by the Onset Bay Association last night. Other than mosquitoes, it was a great night!

Congratulations to our hometown Wareham Tigers Athletic Association Cheer Team for winning 1st place at the Quest finals at Walt Disney World in Florida. The Onset Fire Department is very proud of all of you and look forward to welcoming you home to celebrate!!!

Feb. 6-12 is #NationalBurnAwarenessWeek. Hot cooking liquids are the #1 cause of burn injuries in Massachusetts, and kids under 5 are leading victims. To prevent spills, make the stove a No-Kid Zone, use back burners, & turn the handles of pots/pans toward the back of the stove.
Our hearts go out to our brother and sisters of the Baltimore Fire Department as they deal with a horrible loss of their 3 members.
