Thanks for your prayers, encouragement, and well wishes - it's good to be home.
And finally, I was dehydrated, which was easily solved with IV fluids. All in all, I am much better & stronger now than I was 10 days ago.
It also turns out that I had a slight case of pnuemonia! So I have been taking antibiotics to clear that up.
I am already eating better, and as my tummy heals, I should be able to eat without difficulty.
It turns out the radiation left behind some scarring & burns in my esophagous & stomach and that's what was making it so hard for me to eat.
It was an eventful 10 days and we got to the bottom of several things...
Well, I am home from the hospital after 10 days as a guest of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. :-)
So pray that the Lord will give them wisdom and order our steps and decisions in the next few days. God bless!
I am okay, but the docs need to work out my nutritional plan and figure out what's going on in my tummy that makes it hard to eat.
I have been having trouble eating enough and drinking enough to stay hydrated, so I am spending the next fews days in the hospital.
Well, people...I don't want you to worry, but I want to keep you up to date and I want you to know how to pray.
I made it! Today was my last radiation treatment - now it's back to Monterey, to my home, and my church - Praise God!
The doctors had no idea my potassium had dropped so dangerously. Thank God He sees and knows everything and He is my primary Physician.
The doctor called at midnight and made me get up and take four doses of potassium on the spot and then four more this morning.
The doctor ordered bloodwork to check my levels and late last night, the results came back.
As the Lord would have it, yesterday we asked the doctor whether I should keep taking potassium.
My potassium dropped to a critically low level, which can cause heart arrythmias and sudden death.
Well, we had a small scare last night, but the Lord is still my shepherd and He is watching over me.
Countdown to the finish line - three more treatments and I am done with radiation. Can't wait until this part of the journey is behind me.
