Sometimes the thing I enjoy most is when Atticus naps on me. It’s not often he does this now but it’s lovely to have a snuggle and a relaxing half hour.
You can tell things have gone awry in the country when you find yourself agreeing with Piers Morgan!
We have hit the 6 month refusal to sleep - both naps and at night. 🤦♀️ So I’m currently sat doing what any ‘normal’ parent does and I’m sat on the stairs outside his room. This is an early bedtime (by 30 mins) for him tonight so may just be that. #PleaseGoToSleep #MamaHasAHeadache
I’ve spent the last 60 days doing my best to entertain my 1 year old in one room of a 5th floor flat, with one brief trip to the park a day so he can actually burn off a bit of energy. How *dare* you suggest people who have followed the rules are not good parents.
Protecting one’s family is what any good parent does. The @10DowningStreet statement clarifies the situation and it is wholly inappropriate to politicise it.
I’ve got a child and never been to Durham. Think that’s my Bank Holiday Monday sorted.
Andy (a teacher) has agreed with me that the government should implement old-school teacher discipline when it comes to people breaking lockdown rules. If people are, their whole street is made to stay inside for a whole week/month so peer pressure makes people not want to!

My local beach looked like Benidorm in high season as I drove back from work. You wouldn’t know there was a lockdown. Peak 2, coming soon...
That’s been probably one of the nicest #LockdownUK days we have had in a while. Andy got to come home early from work; Atticus has spent most of the afternoon in the garden making us laugh and he even had a nap on his old cot mattess outside - oh to be his age again!
It’s official... I have a 6 month old! Happy Half Birthday to Atticus today. 🥳 We’ll be celebrating with smashed sweet potato and butternut squash at lunch time. #FirstTastes #BabyWeaning
I predict that the government’s 5 tests for reopening schools on 1st June will be met at 8pm on 31st May....
So my #lastnormalphoto was taken on 1st March - that will be 11 weeks tomorrow. Atticus was 14 weeks old and we were enjoying a Sunday shopping and had a cake stop in @jlandpartners in York. How that felt so normal, mundane even. I can’t wait until we can do ‘normal’ again soon.
