In the latest pod we talk about the "controversial" Daniel Craig James Bond reveal press conference - looking back he is VERY blond and foppish - probably should have got that Bond haircut before 💇‍♂️ Can watch it here: youtube.com/watch?v=TLjCU-…

I was thinking about this scene after watching an interview with James Cameron. There’s a LOT that makes this scene work so hard, but for me it’s the acting skill of mixing both looking absolutely shit-scared terrified with also being really fucking pissed off that sells it.

BA-DA-BAHHHH - in our Season 3 Finale we pour ourselves a Vesper Martini and do a first and worst to die for Daniel Craig era James Bond! 🎧 just search “first to die” wherever you get your pods

‘Twas the night before Podmas - and all through the house, not a creature was stirring… except Jake, who was furiously editing the podcast because he always leaves it to the VERY LAST MINUTE

One immense fact-bomb we didn’t get to talk about on the pod (out next Friday!) is that Casino Royale is the first ever James Bond movie to have a scene where it rains. Such a bizarre fact…

Adding to the list of things we didn't talk about in Daniel Craig era Bond (and Jake wouldn't be interested anyway) are the gratuitous close up shots of Sony Ericsson phones. Really creates a "Fuck me that's an old phone" moment that takes you right out of the movie.

One of the amazing things about the opening credits for Casino Royale is the lack of stupid skimpy dancing ladies - but I feel like an exec insisted Eva Green had to be in there somehow, so they squeezed this in - and it's honestly so bad it's hilarious... youtu.be/A1AMUmkj-ck?t=…

A Bond fact I wasn't able to squeeze into the pod was this pretty cool one: James Ferguson, a physician in Aberdeen, Scotland, came up with the idea for the scene in which Bond is poisoned and is remotely diagnosed by MI6 experts. Nifty little story: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/…

Phew - episode 30 recorded - should be ready next Friday. Chats were had, facts were dropped, movies were ranked, first deaths discussed, and Vesper martinis were drunk :)

Can confirm - Agatha does have a little keyring looping her mother's death on it... Possibly saved as an NFT?

Another strange little Honey I Shrunk the kid fact - the opening credits were one of the first hand-drawn animations to use 3D models, and the great Andrew Stanton from Pixar and Gwen Stefani’s brother Eric worked on it too youtu.be/k6mJbiHZU04

Gotta be when someone steals a security swipe-card from a guard - that then works on every lock, door and safe in the building - so annoying. My fob barely works on the front door of our office.

We’re pretty sure George Méliès’ The Dwarf and The Giant in 1901 is the first movie using special fx to make someone look teeny tiny - let us know if there was an earlier one! youtu.be/QsE9G7700WY

So interesting to see the @therapy_cinema boys review A Monster Calls - managed to be far more articulate and insightful than our ramblings - and no conversations about the monster’s butt at all - go check it out, love these two ♥️ ♥️ youtu.be/ccJF7YYUcNg

The original title for Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was The Teeny-Weenies - inspired by the comic strip by William Donahey. It is uncertain if the original draft included a scene of Russ Thompson Jnr seducing a giant mouse on a bed...

It pleases me no end to see the amount of Demolition Man jokes, quotes and memes replied to this…

Something I forgot to mention on the “Honey, I shrunk the kids” pod is that in the opening scene with the postman you can see the huge Churubusco studio in the background
