It was great to get to present at the Birmingham Colloquium this week!
Next we have Alec Fisher from @itsee_bham presenting on the Latin text of Codex Boernerianus.
Members of @itsee_bham feature in two international TV documentaries this Christmas: for more information see birmingham.ac.uk/news/2024/itse… @PTRBirmingham @artsatbham @HAGHoughton
It was great to have the opportunity to talk about Codices Boernerianus and Augiensis last week! First in their Latin texts, then in their Greek texts! #sblaar24
This claim holds up in Galatians, where I checked 010 (Augiensis) and 012 (Boernerianus). Just two places (3:17 and 6:18) do not reproduce 012's Greek errors. Ordinarily evidence against 010's copying 012, except that both can be explained by interference from 010's Latin side.
I'm excited to share my article: "Codex Augiensis is a Copy of the Greek Text of Codex Boernerianus"! cambridge.org/core/journals/…
The work of cataloging the riches of the world’s Greek NT evidence is far from finished. We are grateful for those around the globe who have partnered with us in this vital endeavor, helping to make each of these precious manuscripts known to the world.
284 cities to visit, and so little time!
This looks like it'll be a fascinating and helpful presentation!
The next TeTra Paper by Tilke Nelis (KU Leuven) will be happening next Thu 20 June at 10 AM CET. She'll be speaking about the use of sense lines in the bilingual Latin-Greek biblical manuscript Bodl. Laud Gr. 35. Please register w/ @AndyHilkens to receive the Zoom link
Congratulations to @FisherAlec of @PTRBirmingham @artsatbham @CAL_Postgrads on this major new article.

Step back in time 45 years and see what the INTF and Bible Museum looked like in 1979! youtu.be/Kw4pNDTumfE
I'm looking forward to presenting twice on bilinguals at SBL this November!
Another book from the @CatenaProject @itsee_bham @PTRBirmingham ! Congratulations to @PManafis on producing the first edition of several early commentaries on Luke: birmingham.ac.uk/news/2024/a-ne… #OpenAccess @ERC_Research
Agree 100% with the first sentence. I would argue, however, that the right has also become its own religion and we have to contend with how that's influenced and compromised our Christian witness.
I'm so tired of seeing politics destroying Christians' capacity for compassion. The left is its own religion. It has rejected Christ, forgiveness, and hope. We haven't. Quit acting like it.
I'd share it with @crbates1
The last #anniversary raffle takes place today! You can win our anniversary schnapps again, this time in a set with two exclusive Mohr Siebeck schnapps glasses! We are giving away 3 sets among everyone who likes this post and comments on who they would share it with!
I’ve always thought that this pairs nicely with the way the gospel account begins: Ἐν ἀρχῇ…
…having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the finish [εἰς τέλος]. (John 13.1b) When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished [Τετέλεσται],” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (John 19.30)
ITSEE founder Prof. David Parker OBE will be giving the Stephen Pisano Memorial Lecture in the Vatican today and it will be streamed live online at 11.15am CEST youtube.com/channel/UCRDqA…
Researching these bilinguals has been and continues to be very enlightening. I’m looking forward to more engagement with this particular conclusion once the article is published!
