The curfew is no longer in effect. It has been in place for the last 45 days to protect residents and secure neighborhoods devastated by the tornado - and we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation. Thank you to our @SLMPD officers for their countless hours of work.

There are people living in homes without roofs in St. Louis. Some are living in tents near an overturned tractor trailer. The devastation stretches for miles. Where is FEMA? Where is @POTUS?

City has $300m in unrestricted funds that it can spent however it wants and in the 3rd week post tornado we have residents still depending on donations of others for basic necessities to survive is bleak man. Very bleak. Was that money earmarked for campaign supports’ causes?

The Delmar Divide is very funny to me, because, as usual, I think progressives get it exactly backwards, wondering, “how can so much devastation exist so close to so much wealth” when the interesting question to me was always, “how is it that so much wealth has persisted next to…

St. Louis: Where Progress Poses for Pictures While the City Bleeds I moved to St. Louis in January. New city, new chapter, trying to settle in. Everyone I met here told me the same thing: “St. Louis is a cool little place. We’re progressive. We care. It’s not what it used to…

You do realize that most people agree with you and do that. The issue is that the crowd is easily swayed and people vote slogans rather than common sense. What do you propose that we (the voters) do about that?

St. Louis — you know how to show up for your neighbors! Thank you to the community organizations, businesses large and small, and residents from around the region that are volunteering, donating and helping out as #stlrecovers.

Veteran North City Alderwoman Sharon Tyus delivers a forceful & emotional defense of Mayor Cara Spencer. "You guys know that if I'm not happy, I'm NOT happy. There is nothing I've asked of this mayor that she has not done. She has gone above and beyond what is required of her."

ST. LOUIS STORM SCAM WATCH While helping tornado victims, I've gotten a lot of questions about insurance claims, contractors going door to door, and FEMA, especially after folks realize I'm an attorney. 1) The President has not yet declared a disaster. There are no FEMA folks…

St. Louis has suffered over $1 billion in costs, damage to 5000 buildings, and the loss of 5 lives from the tornado. How does federal disaster relief work, and what can you do right now to help?

As we are experiencing some of the toughest few days here in St. Louis, I am humbled by the love and generosity I’ve seen from our community. Neighbors helping neighbors. Every act of compassion is truly remarkable. I am so proud of the people of St. Louis.

FEMA is not currently on the ground in St. Louis. We are actively working with state and federal authorities to get FEMA resources, but it could take weeks. In the meantime, please report any people claiming to be FEMA to the police. We will share more info as we learn more.

Our city cannot shoulder this alone. The state of Missouri cannot shoulder this alone. We need partners at the federal level to step up and help. This is what the federal government is for. We saw a tremendous amount of damage — estimates suggest over $1 billion so far.

Walmart spent $2.79 billion on stock buybacks in 2024 while crying about tariffs. Their CEO makes 976x more than the median employee ($27.4M vs. $27K). They have the money to help workers + customers. They just chose not to. That’s not survival. That’s greed.
