How would you design an internal developer platform (IDP) to spin up ephemeral environments? I lay down the tooling needed for an implementation in the first part of this series: dev.to/flopi/starry-a…

The best part was we had saved two of them then when we got to 3 and 4 he was just like “those arent worth saving” meanwhile I bet slug Jerry Claude would be like “you’re absolutely right! that’s a great idea”

What actually happens when you run docker exec : - Finds target container by ID/name - Creates new process in its namespace - Attaches STDIN/STDOUT - Executes command inside the container

Splitting IaC and application code between roles sounds great - until you try it with Serverless. With serverless, 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰. If developers don’t own their own IaC, you’re just adding friction.

I’ve been using gpt-5 for a bit now. This model broke me. It is so good. I didn’t know what the price was. I assumed it would be o3-pro priced because it is that smart. Nope. Truly insane. Videos coming very soon.

You know that script you wrote to save 2 hours a week? - Package it. - Price it. - Ship it. That’s a good entrepreneur mentality. Someone else has the same problem and will pay to not solve it themselves.

Not so hot take: if you use Claude Code, most of y’all’s MCP servers could be a shell script. Easier to maintain and faster and Claude uses just as well if not better.

did you guys ever notice that super smart phds don’t know how to do devops? im talking: barely use git, and 300k line notebooks.

Paying for tokens sucks. We should stop doing that.

You submit a candidate. Client declines. 4 months later, you find out they then went to the candidate directly and hired. What do you do?

DevOps (if you also have software development background) gives you the perspective to see all the process end to end.

The real secret sauce behind the Bay Area is the fact that it’s too disconnected from everything else and sets you free from everyday distractions including bad weather. You can disconnect and focus while keeping an optimistic and positive attitude.
